The Word Made Flesh

John 1:1–14

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. … And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.John 1:1–14 · KJV
Teaching

John opens not with a manger scene but with eternity. Jesus is not a late addition to God’s plan — He is the eternal Word who entered history. Bible study begins by seeing who Christ is before we ask what He asks of us.

Study Questions
1. What does John mean by calling Jesus “the Word”?
2. How does “made flesh” shape the way you approach Scripture?
3. Where do you need light instead of darkness today?

Faith Action

Read John 1:1–14 slowly twice. Write one sentence about who Jesus is.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, eternal Word, open my eyes to Your glory as I begin this journey. Amen.

Personal Reflection
Truth to RememberJesus is the eternal Word who came near.

Repentance and the Kingdom

Matthew 3:1–12

Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.Matthew 3:1–12 · KJV
Teaching

John the Baptist prepares people for Jesus with a clear call: repent. Repentance is not shame theater — it is turning toward God’s rule. Before deeper study, the heart must be willing to change.

Study Questions
1. What does repentance look like in daily life?
2. Why must the kingdom message begin with turning?
3. What habit or attitude needs turning today?

Faith Action

Confess one specific area to God in writing, then write one obedient next step.

Prayer

Father, give me a soft heart that turns quickly when You speak. Amen.

Personal Reflection
Truth to RememberThe kingdom begins with a turned heart.
